Lowrance Legacy Award Nomination
The Michele and Randy Lowrance Legacy Award, established in 2024, honors individuals, businesses, and nonprofit organizations in New Mexico who have created a lasting legacy of giving back through sustained dedication to their communities.
This award recognizes those who devote their time, talent, and resources to addressing local challenges and building a brighter, more equitable future for all. Nominees lead with humility, inspire through action, and consistently demonstrate the YMCA’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Honorees go above and beyond to uplift neighbors in need and create meaningful, measurable impact in at least one of the YMCA’s focus areas: Youth Development, Healthy Living, or Social Responsibility. Whether improving the lives of children and families, advancing community well-being, or mobilizing others to serve, recipients embody what it truly means to be a community champion.

- Rooted in New Mexico
The nominee must be an individual, business, or organization residing or operating in New Mexico and demonstrating a sustained commitment to improving local communities. - Demonstrated Service & Sacrifice
The nominee consistently dedicates their time, energy, and personal or organizational resources toward addressing community challenges and creating positive, lasting change. - Significant Community Impact
The nominee has made a measurable or clearly observable impact on individuals, families, or neighborhoods in New Mexico through volunteerism, leadership, programming, or advocacy. - Embodies the Spirit of Generosity
The nominee routinely goes above and beyond expectations—acting selflessly, uplifting others, and responding to needs without seeking recognition or personal gain. - Alignment With YMCA Pillars
The nominee’s work meaningfully advances at least one of the YMCA’s focus areas:
Youth Development – nurturing the potential of every child and teen
Healthy Living – improving well-being and promoting healthy lifestyles
Social Responsibility – giving back and supporting neighbors in need - Leadership that Inspires
The nominee motivates others to engage in service, fosters collaboration, or works to unite diverse groups around common goals. - Commitment to Equity & Inclusion
