When i grow up, I want to be a hurricane hunter. I am very good at math and observing weather is one of my hobbies. Hurricane Hunters go in an A-C130 and look for Hurricanes and check there wind direction and give them a category.
I am not exactly sure which Air-Force Base does hurricane hunting but its in Mississippi. It’s the only one in the country that does it in modern days.

I want to get a Sports Degree and go to UNM. My dream is to be in the WNBA one day. A good place for me to start is by joining the Lady Lobos. If I get a sports and wellness degree I could be a school coach if i don’t make it to the WNBA. I want to go to UNM Because it is close to to home. Also UNM Accepts most people into their school.

I want to study Quantum Physics at the University of Cambridge in London. The reason why I want to go to the University of Cambridge is that I hear they have an extremely high tech labs.
The same goes for MIT. At MIT they have one of the best labs in the world. If for some reason I couldn’t study Quantum Physics I would study Computer Sciences at MIT over the University of Cambridge. Since I know for a fact that MIT has better funding for the field.

How would you get other teens interested in this program?
By telling them about the cool things about the program like the swimming and Kona Ice. That they can be with kids there age and go on field trips with their friends. So that they don’t have to be all alone with nothing to do. They could get some extra sides.

How I think we can get teens interested in this program is that we go to a street and hold up signs and it will say “If you have a teen and you need a program to watch them try the YMCA”. Then tell them how cool it is and all the things we do and all the places we go.

By putting up ads and signs to tell teens to come to the YMCA and tell them about the activities and field trips we do and have the teens in the YMCA tell about their experiences.

I would have them go on field trips almost every day have the cone of ice truck come go swimming to other swimming pools so they don’t get bored of the pools

Week of May 29, 2017
At the Y we get to go outside and go on field trips. I like the staff and the kids. They are all nice and there to help if needed. I like the activities. And the games that we play. I’m excited that we get to go to Sonic and the Los Altos Skate Park. I really think this will be a fun summer and I’m happy with the friends I have and the friends I am going to meet. I really enjoyed last summer and I think I will enjoy this one too!

At the Y we do a bunch of fun activities. My favorite activity we have done is the button bracelet (I am working on one). We do a lot of fun things. The counselors are always thinking of new games to play. The counselors are very nice, fun and creative.

What I have done at YMCA that I liked was dodgeball, football, and musical shapes. What I enjoyed was that the staff do the activities with you also, that shows they care about the community.Even though I only stayed three days this week I had fun.

We read the book “Mockingbird”. This book is about a girl with Asperger’s Syndrome who had a brother but he got killed in a school shooting. It’s pretty good.

Today we did a cool thing. We made button bracelets. We got to sew them and I like sewing. It was really fun. What I liked the most about it was all the cool buttons and that we got to do it with our friends. What I didn’t like was that I kept on messing up and so I had to unsew it to be able to finish it. I didn’t get to finish it yet, but I might get to finish it later today.

Summer just started so I am really excited to see what happens. I’m in a summer camp called the YMCA and it’s been really fun so far . I found a four leaf clover and an adorable lady bug. I’ve made a lot of new friends and I’m excited to spend the whole summer with them.My favorite part is being able to spend time with friends. My least favorite part is that we have to wait to wait until exactly eleven thirty to have lunch. I also like the counselors, they are very nice and fun to hang out with. This summer doesn’t seem to be so bad after all.

My favorite activity is making bracelets out of buttons. I also enjoy literacy time. I love the book we are reading. It is Mocking Bird. I think. Reflection time is important because it gives us relaxing time.

I think the first week of camp was great! I love seeing kids make friends, and I especially love watching kids create art. Everyone worked really well together and helped each other out. Today we have a field trip so the teens are a mass of alien green shirts! I know we will have fun, and I ‘m looking forward to next week’s adventures!
–L. SL 2017
The first week is always an exciting time for everyone not only does it give us the opportunity to influence new students but it allows us to teach them self efficacy and new skills that they can carry over into the school year. I love watching these kids grow as individuals and supporting them as a counselor letting them know that they can accomplish anything they can put there mind to. I look forward to all the fun field trips and amazing times ahead with the staff and students.
