Group Exercise classes are offered at all locations. We’re excited to offer more ways for you to continue your fitness journey!
THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU ARRIVE
- Please do not enter the classrooms until 5 minutes before class begins as other classes need time to clean up.
- Upon arriving at the Y, check in at the front desk in the main building and to get a pass to class.
- Please bring your own mats to class. The Y will not have mats available.
- Used equipment can be left out after class for sanitizing by the instructor.
- We encourage you to wash your hands before and after class.
Dedicated Staff
Our certified staff is caring, knowledgeable, and experienced. They are passionate about helping you achieve your fitness goals. They will guide and support you through our wide range of group exercise classes, so you can find the workout that fits your lifestyle. Once you find the program that suits your needs, they will continue to help and motivate you.
Supportive Environment
When you join the Y, you’ll see that support doesn’t just end with our staff; you’ll meet other supportive people who have the same goals and interests as you. From work-out partners to lifelong friends, the support and friendship you find at the Y is priceless. At the YMCA, we’re not just a gym, we’re a community.
SilverSneakers
Many insurance companies cover the cost of a YMCA membership for Medicare eligible people through the SilverSneakers Fitness Program. We offer SilverSneakers Classic, Circuit, and Yoga. Check with your health insurance provider to see if they have SilverSneakers as part of the benefit plan.
Cardio/Dance
It doesn’t matter if you are new to exercise or an experienced exerciser, we have a class to fit your style and fitness level. Cardio is a great way to get moving, make friends and stay motivated. Zumba, Cardio Kickboxing, Full Body HIIT, Step Circuit, Cardio Sculpt and Circuit Burn are some of the great cardio classes we offer at the Y to maximize your workout potential in a fun group class.
Cycling
Indoor cycling is a low impact, high intensity cardio class that will get your heart rate up and help burn fat. Our high energy cycling instructors will keep you motivated through hills, jumps and sprints that will leave you sweating and exhilarated.
Strength Training
Through our strength training classes, you will see a noticeable difference in your tone and shape. Our instructors practice what they preach and are committed to you becoming stronger with greater endurance. Full Body Workout, Total Body Conditioning, Muscle Express, Strength Challenge and Body Blast are some of the great strength training classes we offer at the Y. McLeod Family YMCA offers the Les Mills Body Pump Program, which is a choreographed resistance class using high reps with low weights set to motivating music. The Y can accommodate all ability levels using barbells, dumbbells (hand weights), resistance bands and more.
Mind/Body Classes
Finding balance in your everyday living is what we are hoping to accomplish with our mind/body classes. Pilates, Yoga, Tai Chi and other mind body disciplines will not only train you to be stronger in your body, but will nurture your spirit as we guide you through movement, breathing and relaxation techniques.
