Winter Meltdown: Weight Loss Challenge
Thursday, January 5, 2012
TIME:
7:00 PM @ Horn YMCA
6:30 PM @ Clovis YMCA
This winter’s fitness challenge is a weight loss challenge. We hesitate to use the word challenge because each person will determine their own goals. Those goals may be actual weight loss, or the development of healthy habits of exercise or possibly learning from the 12 weekly meetings.
The objects of the Winter Meltdown are to:
- Get as fit as you can in 12 weeks.
- Create positive pressure to help you get to a level of fitness you have never obtained before.
- Stop making excuses and start making a difference.
- Become an example of what is possible so others can learn from your example.
- Create competition, camaraderie and make new friends. Discover what you are capable of.
- Just finish the Meltdown and you will be a winner. Never give up! Have fun!
We will be following the YMCA’s Get Real program which is a personal guide to real-life weight management. Jennifer Hill is our certified Get Real instructor and she will be leading the meetings in Albuquerque. Paddie Eichenberger, Fitness Coordinator for the Clovis Family YMCA will be leading the meetings in Clovis.
Cost for the challenge is $40 for members and $60 for non-members.
Included in the registration are two 30 minute Personal Training sessions with the trainer of your choice, 12 weekly meetings and weigh in sessions, nutrition tracking using the Activtrax system, before and after pictures, personal guidance by our instructor. Group Exercise class participation and working out with a friend or partner is strongly encouraged but not required. Non-members will not be allowed general access to the wellness centers, only access to weigh-in, the weekly meetings and the two PT sessions.
